Fitness is to the body the equivalency of what fine-tuning is to an engine. It enables us to perform up to our full potential. Fitness is a condition that can help us look, feel, and do our best. It is the ability to perform normal given tasks quickly and alertly, with energy left over for enjoying leisure-time activities. It is the ability to endure and handle stress, to continue on in certain circumstances where a person who was not fit could not continue, and is a major basis for good or excellent health and well-being. To achieve and maintain a decent to high level of personal fitness is to achieve over all improvement in life. The benefits of a high level of personal fitness include, but definitely aren't limited to: an improved appearance, body image, or image of ones self, improved self-control, improved health, increased muscular strength and endurance, increased level of energy, and much, much more.

The benefits of exercise and good nutrition apply to people of all shapes and sizes, but some must work harder than others to achieve what they desire.

By no means is obtaining physical fitness an easy task. Companies make millions upon millions of dollars each year off of people who will buy anything from pills that promise you a slim waste line in merely two weeks, to nutrition shakes that claim to aid you in losing up to a hundred pounds or more without even having to exercise or dramatically change your lifestyle. People are willing to give into these fad diets and forms of exercise in hopes of an easy path to good fitness.
