Aim: To test whether there was any difference in heights of clover leaves growing on the grazed and un-grazed Kristin fields as measured by petiole length.

Hypothesis: The clover plants will have two variations and in my opinion the one that grows in the un-grazed area will be taller as measured by petiole length. This is because the length of the petiole will not have been altered compared to the clover plants in the grazed area. The main requirement for plant growth is photosynthesis so when they clover plants are cut altering their growth the plant in the grazed are will need not as much sunlight as the un-grazed for photosynthesis. Wind and interactions between animals will keep this steady and so the plant in the grazed should not grow over a certain height because if it was two grow higher then its mean height it might be blown over.

One more problem is competition between the un-grazed clover plants as they will be fighting for resources and this might reduce the amount available for other species and alter plant growth. The t-test assesses whether the means of the two groups are statistically different from each other, this experiment, so competition will be much more higher for the taller plants inorder to receive maximum sunlight and nutrition and the wind be as strong as surrounding plants would be breaking the wind,Data Collection:Length of clover petioles as measured by the average length (mm) of a sample of petioles in grazed and un-grazed grass conditions.
